Singapore today is one of the most dynamically developing countries in Southeast Asia. Singapore is known not only for its high standard of living and social security, but also for its significant progress in the development of such areas as health care, medicine and education.

Unlike many small Asian states, Singapore combines traditional oriental culture with typical features of the Western mentality, such as social tolerance, interest in the personality of each person, desire for education, science and business development.

This is partly due to the state’s colonial past, which is still multinational and welcoming to foreigners.

Singapore is famous for a variety of educational programs for international students. Moreover, you can choose a program depending on your previous education, including both school and full-fledged university education.

Education here is usually in English. Then the education you get can be continued in almost any other country if you wish: for example, you can get a bachelor degree in Britain or Australia.

The higher education system in Singapore consists of five polytechnics, three universities, a national teacher training institute and an institute of technical education, the main purpose of which is to train specialists in postgraduate programs.

Singapore uses 12-year English system of education, that’s why an applicant from Russia needs additional year of academic preparation: either a year in a domestic university or preparatory courses in an English-speaking country or Singapore in colleges (Junior College).

The requirements for admission to the Master’s degree are not different from those in other English-speaking countries. These are diploma of higher education, TOEFL or IELTS, CV, references, motivation letter, GMAT (for MBA).

Thailand

This country has won the laurels of the most popular resort destination for our compatriots. It has everything: a lazy beach holiday, interesting excursions, picturesque nature, a rich nightlife with parties, cocktails and Thai delicacies (well, you know what we mean). There are so many resorts here that you can go to a new one every year. Pattaya, Phuket and Samui islands – bigger and Phi Phi Phi, Ko-Mak – smaller, but in general, a whole bunch of islands, each of which you can find everything you want.

Vietnam

Rest in Vietnam inexpensive in terms of food, entertainment, etc.. That is why it likes the European youth, because here you can surf and just relax lazily. The main resorts are Nha Trang, which is recommended for active tourists, Phan Thiet – a quieter, for what he likes couples with children and Phu Quoc – for those who like a luxurious holiday. Of entertainment: excursions to national parks, boat trips to islands, all sorts of unusual for us activities (like ostrich rides), as well as more familiar – such as the Amusement Park “Wynperl” on the island of the same name.

Sri-Lanka

As many antiquities as there are in the legendary Ceylon, you are unlikely to find anywhere else. There is ancient Sigirya – a majestic mountain, decorated with a giant statue of a lion, and Dambulla with the largest collection of Buddha statues, and Kandy – the ancient residence of the rulers, and Anuradhapura with a centuries-old history and the sacred Bodhi tree. And this is not the whole list, and we have not yet said a word about the wonderful quiet beaches with red sunsets, against which the silhouettes of local fishermen sitting on special poles directly in the sea.

India

If you want to go to the sea, then Goa and Kerala are waiting for you. Goa is for partying in the north and total relaxation in the south. You can say that it’s not even India, but “little Portugal”, everything is quite modern, a little local color, but there is a special atmosphere, which was brought here by hippies: freedom, parties on the beach and all that. Kerala will appeal to those who want to get acquainted with ayurveda, there are many centers of Indian medicine and yoga schools. There is also the famous golden triangle Delhi-Agra-Jaipur, the city of Varanasi, Mumbai and many other cities that are interesting but not safe to travel alone.

Indonesia

To understand how to really relax on vacation, go to Bali or Java or Sumatra, in general, to one of the beautiful islands of Indonesia, where the background of the Indian Ocean is calm and tranquility. See the temples, play with the monkeys. And if you want to party, clubs and entertainment, then, for example, the Balinese Kuta you more than enough: a street of entertainment and a few schools of surfing training will quite compensate your desire for activity.

The island of Bali is a favorite destination for travelers from all over the world. Here you can easily spend a couple of weeks or even a month or two, renting a room in a cozy hotel or a small villa in one of the resort towns of the island. This article is designed for those who are planning a vacation in Bali in the format of “no moving, staying in one place for the whole vacation. We know for sure that sooner or later you will want to leave your poolside paradise and go in search of beautiful places and exciting adventures.

How to move around Bali

There are actually two options. Either you rent a motorcycle (all the routes, in principle, conquerable on a motorcycle) or rent a car with a driver.

Renting a motorcycle will cost $5-15 per day depending on the model of bike and rental location with an impressive discount on long-term rentals. You can also order a bike or several bikes online with delivery to your hotel, so you don’t have to waste effort and time looking for one locally, see a great option here. Take a bike provided you are confident in your own driving skills, Bali is not the best place to learn how to drive a motorcycle.

The average cost of a car with a driver in Bali per day is about $40-$50, plus tips for the driver. You can rent a car through any hotel reception in Bali. You can also book a car with a driver online, after reading the reviews (so as not to risk buying a pig in a poke and not to waste time looking for a car on the spot).

Ubud and the surrounding area

Ubud is the heart of Bali. In fact, we always recommend making a stop in Ubud for a closer look at the town and the sights of downtown Bali, but if you intend to spend your vacation exclusively by the ocean, be sure to include a full-day trip here in your plans.

Spend the entire day in Ubud walking around the town and surrounding area, checking out the local shops and making stops for coffee and snacks. Be sure to turn off the main street and wander the art suburbs. Visit the forest of monkeys. If you have the time and inclination, treat yourself to a massage and an early dinner before heading back to the coast.

Lake and Batur Volcano

Batur is an active volcano, over the past 100 years the volcano has erupted about 20 times, some eruptions were very powerful, as evidenced by the frozen streams of lava covering the slopes of the volcano. Around the caldera of the volcano – quite a few places with an interesting landscape created by lava. Going down to Kintamani village, you can take a guided hiking (independent ascents to Batur are considered unsafe because of the aggressiveness of local guides towards independent travelers). The trekking takes 1-2 hours one way depending on the route, the difficulty is medium. After descending from the top of the volcano (or skipping this activity), soak in the Batur Natural Hot Springs.

Alternatives to trekking are kayaking on Lake Batur, biking or hiking through traditional villages in Kintamani District (ask for options at the office of C.Bali, which specializes in eco-tours. Plan on about 2-3 hours per tour.

If you are looking for a thrill and are willing to pay for it – include a visit to the village of Trunyan and the local creepy cemetery. You can get to the village by boat, which departs from Kedisan village on the south shore of Lake Batur, by taking a tour in Kintamani or by driving to the villages on the east shore and arranging for a boat and escort to Trunjan with local fishermen.
